    Save My Computer!

Post  Flowteau on Sun Jun 22, 2014 2:15 pm

My Windows 7 disc has a few deep scratches (I'm not sure why), so I need to transfer my genuine Windows .iso that I'm downloading now to my USB flash drive. To make it bootable, I need to use a specific kind of program (as opposed to just dragging the file into the space). There's an official Windows one and a few third party tools. To use the program, I need help from someone with a Windows 7/8 laptop to run it. Could someone pls help within the next few days?

    Likely Q&A:

    Is this legal?
Yes, I paid for the product code. I just need a working installation/repair.

    Why USB?
I don't have any more high capacity discs, and if my disc drive is what caused those scratches, I don't want to use Dragonkiller's disc for it to scratch up.

    Why not order a replacement?
OEM version is a lot of trouble to deal with officially, and time.

Microsoft has a tool to put bootable Windows into a flash drive.
Also this is Windows 7 Home Premium.

OK, well if it's just making a bootable thumb drive, then I can lend you my computer tomorrow. First floor of the library / same time as today?

My desktop tried to kill me one of the last times I opened it up.

... though that may have more to do with sticking my finger in the cpu fan.
